Frequently Asked Questions

  • LLumar® pioneered window film over 60 years ago and is backed by materials science giant Eastman.
  • Their advanced technology offers superior heat rejection, clarity, and fade protection.
  • You pay for superior clarity, long-lasting durability, fade resistance, enhanced safety (shatter protection), and the peace of mind that comes with a globally recognized leader in window film.
  • It's a smart investment in your comfort and your vehicle's protection.

Malaysia's JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan) regulations for car window tinting remain consistent.

  • Front windscreen: Min. 70% light pass (VLT)
  • Front side windows: Min. 50% VLT
  • Rear windows & backscreen: Any darkness allowed!

1) TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection):

The percentage of total solar energy rejected by filmed glass. The higher this value, the less solar heat is transmitted.

2) VLT (Visible Light Transmission):

VLT is the amount of visible light that passes directly through filmed glass. The darker the tint, the lower the visible light transmitted.

3) UVR (Ultraviolet Rejection):

The percentage of ultraviolet (UV) light that is rejected by the filmed glass. UV light contributes to the fading and deterioration of fabrics and leather.

4) IRR (Infrared Rejection):

The percentage of solar infrared energy rejection. Infrared rays are primarily responsible for the heat you feel when driving.

5) Glare Reduction: The percentage by which visible light is reduced by the addition of tinting film.

  • The performance of Security | Safety films rely solely on the thickness of the film. Thicker films will endure a higher breaking point, i.e. absorbing higher impact forces in terms of LB/inch² (pound per square inch), making harder it to penetrate the window.
  • Thickness of Security | Safety films are measured in terms of (1 MIL = 25 Microns = 0.025 Millimeter).
  • LLumar leads the market in this segment, providing Security | Safety films ranging from the lower end of 4 MIL to the highest of 8 MIL.

  • The warranty covers bubbling, peeling, oxidisation, discolorization and cracking.
  • Depending on the tint package, the warranty period can range from 5-10 years.

  • Window tint keeps you cooler, safer, and more comfortable.
  • It blocks harsh heat and damaging UV rays, reduces blinding glare, protects your skin and interior from fading, and strengthens windows for added security & privacy.

  • Film percentages stand for visual light transmission (VLT), or the amount of light that is allowed through the film.
  • The lower the percentage, the darker the film.
  • With modern advances in window film, you can have great heat rejection with lighter films, no need to have dark window tint to receive the heat rejection benefits.

  • Yes. We recommend that you leave your vehicle windows rolled up for at least 48 hours after the window film has been installed.
  • This allows the film to cure and adhere to the glass before the window is moved

  • Please retain this soft copy e-warranty copy as it must be presented along with the original invoice to receive warranty service.
  • Form must be complete for warranty to be valid.
